More Moss Park

More Moss Park

Plans include:
The removal of most, if not all mature trees in Moss Park. What is an acceptable number of fully grown trees can be removed? 10 trees? 30 trees? 50 trees? Will noise to the surrounding areas be elevated without these mature trees? Is there an alternative?

  • Locating the new community center on the west side of the park away from the existing TTC stops and the new proposed subway stop for the Relief Line
  • The community center will be 9 storeys high and will cast a shadow across much of the park
  • Parking entrances and service bays off a residential street facing homes and condominiums.
  • Heavy vehicle restrictions will be revoked to allow this.
  • Removal of existing tennis courts, baseball diamond and the soccer field

The round table will be taking place next Wednesday, September 14, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at John Innes Community Center, 150 Sherbourne St., this is the last open meeting for this phase of the More Moss Park public consultation.
